On Saturday, Feb. 9, the Chocolate Walk will take place in downtown Kent. Ticket holders will “check in” between 12PM and 4PM at the Destination Kent Visitor Centre (located at 201 E. Erie St.) to pick up their Chocolate Walk maps, “passes,” and bags to collect their chocolate treats. Then, at their leisure, guests can stop at over twenty participating businesses to gather a chocolate surprise while shopping, having lunch, coffee, and/or drinks along the way.
Participating businesses include: Treno Ristorante, Kent State University Hotel & Conference Center, Scribbles Coffee Co., Belli & Streit Orthodontics(in a downtown location), Popped!, Kent State Downtown Art Gallery, Tree City Coffee & Pastry, Twisted Meltz, EuroGyro, Rise and Shine Cafe, Kent Cheesemonger, Red Letter Days of Kent, Taco Tonto’s—Kent, Grazers, Each + Every, Belleria Pizza & Italian Restaurant, Empire Kent, Gracylane Kent, Troy Grille, Peace, Love and Little Donuts of Kent, Kent State Fashion School Store, McKay Bricker Framing & Black Squirrel Gifts, Troppus Projects, Cracked Escape, Carnaby Street Style, Shop Sugar Rush, Handcrafted
Chocolate Walk tickets are $25 each (plus Eventbrite fee), and will go on sale Monday, Jan. 7 at 12PM (noon) at www.eventbrite.com. Two hundred fifty tickets will be available. All ticket holders will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize: an overnight stay at the Kent State Hotel & Conference Center, dinner for two, and complimentary parking. Winner must be at least 18 years of age; alternate prize for winner under 18 years of age will be a $150 gift card. Drawing will be held on Monday, Feb. 11.
This is an all-weather event and tickets are non-refundable. All chocolate treats are donated by participating businesses and event proceeds will benefit Main Street Kent in support of ongoing efforts to promote, beautify and preserve downtown Kent.
