Jane’s Walk Kent – Walking Tour

May 4, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Using the history and stories gathered for his new book Small Town, Big Music, author Jason Prufer will provide a tour of locations in Kent significant to the history of Rock and Roll!

Come learn and reminisce about Kent’s Rock and Roll past and hear one-of-a-kind commentary and insight from Jason!

Attendees will meet at Hometown Bank Plaza and the walking tour will leave promptly at 12pm.

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle to remain hydrated. We expect to use the entire hour.

The tour will end back at Hometown Bank Plaza at approximately 1pm.

This event and Jane’s Walk initiative is inspired by Jane Jacobs (1916-2006). Jane was a writer, urbanist and activist who championed the voices of everyday people in neighborhood planning and city-building. Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, citizen-led walking conversations.

On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighborhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbors.
