Bryan Hopkins Artist Talk

Join us (KSU) for the Kent Blossom Art Lecture Series from May 30 – June 6, 2018. Visiting artist who are a part of the Kent Blossom Art Intensives will be giving presentation on their work. Free and open to the public.

On Monday, June 4, Bryan Hopkins, visiting artist in ceramics, will be giving a talk on his work at 6:00 p.m. in room 165 at the Center for the Visual Arts (325 Terrace Drive).

Bryan Hopkins was born in Philadelphia, PA, and currently resides in Buffalo, NY. He began West Chester University of PA as a mathematics major, and went on to earn an MFA in Ceramics from SUNY at New Paltz. Bryan has been studio potter working in porcelain since 1990. His research in the field of ceramics centers on the vessel- both utilitarian and sculptural.

Bryan teaches at Niagara County Community College. He has curated ceramics exhibitions both nationally and locally. Bryan’s work has been exhibited in group and solo shows nationally, including the NCECA Clay National Biennial. His work, research, and writings have has been published in numerous magazines and books.

Bryan is a founding member of the on line ceramics group Objective Clay. He is also a New York Foundation on the Arts Fellow in Craft.
