Main Street Kent to Welcome Spring with Putt Around Downtown Event

Kent, OH – On Saturday, April 6, eighteen businesses in downtown Kent will take the shape of a miniature golf course for Putt Around Downtown. Main Street Kent is hosting this unique, family-friendly event where each business will create a custom miniature golf hole for participating golfers to play. Golfers will check in at the Venice Café (located at 163 W. Erie St.) at 1pm, play golf from 1pm to 4pm, and then enjoy awards and prizes at 4pm at the “19^th Hole” (Venice Café). Tickets are $15 per golfer, or $50 per foursome, and are available at: http://www.mainstreetkent.org/events/putt-around-downtown/

The course will be set up at the following businesses: Belleria Pizza & Italian Restaurant, Carnaby Street Style, Cracked Escape, Franklin School of Dance, GV Art + Design, Handcrafted, Kent Cheesemonger, Kent Cycle, Kent Fabrics, Kent Historical Society & Museum, Kent State Hotel, Middle Path Counseling, Popped!, Red Letter Days, Rise & Shine Café, Scribbles Coffee, Sugar Rush, and Treno Ristorante.

When ticket holders check in, they will receive a commemorative golf ball, scorecard, course map, raffle ticket and drink ticket. Then the tournament will start at 1pm. Each group will be sent off to their starting hole like a “shotgun tournament.” Participants are encouraged to complete the course at their leisure, stopping to enjoy lunch, drinks and/or shopping during their round. At 4pm, the fun will continue back at the “19^th Hole” (Venice Café) with an awards celebration including lots of prizes! Putters will be provided at each participating “hole”. Raffle prizes will include rounds of golf, golf balls/accessories, gift cards to downtown Kent restaurants/businesses and more.
