Main Street Kent Chocolate Walk to be held Sat., Feb. 13

Kent, OH — Main Street Kent announces the 2021 Chocolate Walk, sponsored by Squirrel City Jewelers. On Saturday, Feb. 13, the event will take place from 11am-5pm in downtown Kent. Chocolate Walk tickets are $20 each, and will go on sale Monday, Jan. 25 at 12pm at www.eventbrite.com/e/main-street-kent-chocolate-walk-tickets-136492939055. All ticket holders will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize: a pair of 14K rose gold chocolate diamond earrings, with a retail value of $2,000! Drawing will be held on Monday, Feb. 15.

Ticket holders will check in at the Kent State Hotel & Conference Center from 11am-1pm, with assigned, staggered check-in times, to pick up their Chocolate Walk maps, passes and treat bags. Masks are required for this event, which will be spread out over several blocks in the downtown district. Guests will also be assigned a starting location (like a “shotgun start”) to eliminate the possibility of congestion and allow for ample physical distancing. Over a dozen participating businesses will provide chocolate treats to ticket holders who may also enjoy shopping, lunch, coffee, and/or drinks along the way. “It’s a great opportunity to get some fresh air, spend time with loved ones outside the home, do some exploring, and collect delicious chocolate concoctions,” shared MSK executive director Heather Malarcik. “Our business owners are excited to have visitors, and we all expect 100% compliance with masks and distancing requirement so that the event can be enjoyed by all.” Participants include: Barrio Tacos, Belleria Pizza, Bent Tree Coffee, College Town Kent, Hall-Green Agency, Kent Cycle, Kent State Hotel, North Water Brewing Co., Popped!, Red Letter Days, Ray’s Place, Squirrel City Jewelers, Taco Tonto’s, Taproot Catering, and Troppus Projects.

Event plans are contingent on Portage County’s COVID-19 risk level; in the event the level is raised to Purple/Level IV during the week of the event, it will be rescheduled. Tickets are non-refundable, unless the event is unable to be rescheduled. All chocolate treats are donated by participating businesses; event proceeds will benefit Main Street Kent in support of their ongoing efforts to make downtown Kent a fun, vibrant and thriving place!
