Main Street Kent is excited to present the Family Friendly Halloween event on Fri., Oct. 29, from 5-7pm. Community members are invited to dress in costume, bring their own treat bags, and head to the Hometown Bank Plaza to pick up treats from several local businesses, organizations and the Kent Police Department, then head out to collect more treats around downtown Kent. Rough Riders Read will be at the Hometown Bank Plaza handing out books, and Riders Taking Action will be collecting items for Kent Social Services, so please bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations to help “stuff the bus.” See the KSS Facebook page for a list of items needed, especially for Thanksgiving: https://www.facebook.com/KentSS1
The Rotary Club will be set up at the gazebo, and the Kent Jaycees at the historic train car, plus many other outdoor stops around town. Families are encouraged to dress up, grab some local carryout for dinner, and/or a DORA drink (adult beverages available for outdoor consumption) along the way and enjoy this outdoor downtown trick-or-treat event. (Main Street Kent hopes to bring the costume contest and other activities back in 2022.)
